The game turned in the last quarter of an hour. In the 77th minute Chelsea goalkeeper Mike Penders, under pressure from Jan Paul van Hecke, punched Mateus Fernandes's corner into his own net. Three minutes later Cole Palmer was shown a second yellow card for catching Conor Gallagher; Sky Sports reports he had earlier escaped with only a booking after barging into Fernandes. Sky Sports and NBC Sports both report it was Tottenham's first win at Chelsea without conceding since December 1986. Xabi Alonso's Chelsea stay fourth on 13 points; Spurs are 12th on nine.
