Como beat Manchester United 4–1 at the Stadio Giuseppe Sinigaglia on Wednesday in the third round of the Champions League league phase. Nico Paz opened the scoring in the second minute.
Paz set up Tasos Douvikas four minutes after halftime and scored again himself in the 57th minute, winning the ball from a United pass before finishing. Jacobo Ramón finished substitute Kaiki's cross for the fourth in the 76th, and Joshua Zirkzee, off the bench, pulled one back in stoppage time.
United have now gone seven games without a win in all competitions, per ESPN and Sky Sports. Matthijs de Ligt made his first start in 325 days and was caught out for Douvikas's goal. Michael Carrick apologized to the supporters afterward and said he was "really angry," per Sky Sports.
