Montevideo City Torque beat Atlético Mineiro 2–0 at the Estadio Centenario on Wednesday, but Atlético won the Copa Sudamericana semifinal 3–2 on aggregate after a 3–0 win in Belo Horizonte last week.

Torque pressed for most of the night, and Atlético's Alan Franco was sent off in the second half. Kevin Silva scored in the 89th minute from Juan Quintana's pass, and Gary Kagelmacher added a second in stoppage time, one goal short of forcing a shootout.

Eduardo Domínguez's side play Boca Juniors in a one-off final in Barranquilla on November 21. Infobae notes Atlético lost last year's final to Lanús and that Boca are chasing their third Sudamericana title.
