Real Madrid beat Sevilla 4–1 at the Bernabéu on Sunday in the ninth round of La Liga. Arda Güler opened the scoring on the half hour from Yan Diomande's pass, and Kylian Mbappé made it 2–0 seven minutes later after a backheel from Jude Bellingham.

Mbappé added a second from the penalty spot just after the hour; ESPN describes it as a Panenka. Manu Bueno pulled one back for Sevilla in the 80th minute after Mbappé lost the ball, according to Sport News Africa, and Diomande restored the three-goal margin two minutes later from Aurélien Tchouaméni's pass.

ESPN reports Madrid played without Vinícius Júnior, who is serving the first game of a four-game ban for pulling the hair of Villarreal's Nathan Saliba. José Mourinho's side have 21 points from nine games and sit third, six behind Barcelona, who have won all nine. ESPN reports Madrid play RB Leipzig on Wednesday before the trip to Barcelona on Sunday.
