Inter Miami beat Atlanta United 3–1 on Saturday. Germán Berterame headed in Luis Suárez's cross in the 45th minute. Lionel Messi scored in the 56th minute after a one-two with Berterame, then again four minutes later when Suárez sent him through. Fafà Picault scored a penalty for Atlanta in the 89th minute.

Messi now has 25 regular-season goals, and ESPN reports his lead in the Golden Boot race is six. His 15 assists make him the first player in MLS history with at least 15 in three consecutive seasons, according to Inter Miami and ESPN.

It was Miami's third straight win. ESPN reports they clinched a playoff place on Wednesday and sit second in the Eastern Conference behind Nashville. They visit the New York Red Bulls on October 24.
