Arsenal beat Liverpool 1–0 at Anfield on Sunday in the ninth round of the Premier League.

Kai Havertz scored in the 16th minute, finishing at the back post from Declan Rice's cross. Liverpool had more of the ball after that but did not put a shot on target, Sky Sports and ESPN report. Florian Wirtz hit the crossbar with a free kick. Liverpool wanted a penalty in the first half when Jurrien Timber held Alexander Isak's shirt; Andoni Iraola called it "a clear penalty," Sky Sports reports.

It was Arsenal's first win at Anfield since 2012. Mikel Arteta's side are top on 24 points, three ahead of City. Liverpool are fifth on 15.
