Boca Juniors beat River Plate 1–0 at La Bombonera on Sunday in the 15th round of the Clausura.
River went down to 10 men inside the first 10 minutes, when Lucas Martínez Quarta was sent off after a VAR review for a last-man foul on Miguel Merentiel. Lautaro Di Lollo scored in the 27th minute, heading in Sebastián Villa's corner. Gonzalo Montiel was sent off in the 79th minute for a sliding challenge on Lautaro Blanco, La Nación reports.
The win secures Rodolfo Arruabarrena's Boca a place in next year's Copa Libertadores, and leaves them one win from finishing top of the season's aggregate table, La Nación reports. Leonardo Ponzio's River are close to out of the race for the Libertadores places.
