“A gritty two-way engine who keeps Scotland moving.”
GoalPost verdict
GoalPost score (GPS)
GoalPost read
S. Dembélé rates limited: his value rests on elite position-adjusted output and steady season-to-season consistency, but the recent decline tempers it. He is at or near his peak, with peak form at Birmingham, and now sits in his prime.

Analysis overview
S. Dembélé is a box-to-box midfielder who works both directions with purpose, stitching phases together through sharp support runs and reliable recycling. He offers a steady midfield pulse rather than flash, popping up to help win it, then carrying play on into the next action. The game asks him to be functional, mobile, and disciplined, and he leans into that role.
