AUBREY MODIBA
Defender · Mamelodi Sundowns · Premier Soccer League
“South African defender who carries the ball forward with uncommon comfort and range.”
GoalPost verdict
GoalPost score (GPS)
GoalPost read
A veteran box-to-box midfielder, listed as a defender, he brings versatility, but league-level discount and an unguaranteed starting role keep his value in check. His strongest recent form came at Mamelodi Sundowns, and he is beyond his usual peak window.

Analysis overview
Modiba operates as a progressive force from the back, willing to advance into midfield spaces and drive possession upfield rather than distribute laterally. His ball-carrying instinct is his primary asset—he uses it to transition play and relieve pressure, moving through the thirds with purpose. In a box-to-box capacity, he becomes a link between defense and attack, though his overall technical ceiling remains moderate.
