“Veteran Saudi keeper running down the clock on fading reflexes.”
GoalPost verdict
GoalPost score (GPS)
GoalPost read
Ahmed Al Kassar still has value as a veteran goalkeeper, but his case is softened by the league context and the fact that he is not an automatic starter. He is past his typical peak window.

Analysis overview
Al Kassar operates as a traditional last line, relying on positioning and reads rather than explosive athleticism. His game has narrowed with age—he stays compact in the box, cuts angles through economy of movement, and distributes laterally rather than launching play.
