Frosinone beat Sassuolo 4–2 at the Stadio Benito Stirpe on Friday in the seventh round of Serie A. Giacomo Calò scored in the 9th minute and Domenico Berardi equalized six minutes later. Antonio Raimondo then scored twice in quick succession, the second on the half hour. Kristian Thorstvedt pulled one back for Sassuolo before the break, and Raimondo completed his hat-trick in the 57th minute.
Calciomercato reports that Raimondo, on loan from Bologna, moved past Malen of Roma to top the Serie A scoring chart with seven goals. Sportmediaset notes that is seven goals in seven games. Speaking to Sky Sport Italia afterward, Raimondo said it was his first hat-trick as a professional and credited coach Alvini for his progress after a season in which he scored once.
Berardi's goal was his 132nd in Serie A, which Calciomercato says ties him with Alessandro Altobelli on the league's all-time list. Eurosport reports the win lifted Frosinone to fourth on 13 points, at least until the weekend's games are played.
