Match Report
Altrincham took control after falling behind and never let United of Manchester back into it. Matthew Grivosti put United ahead in the 12th minute, but Leo Farrell answered three minutes later, Jimmy Knowles and Aidan Barlow struck before halftime, and Sam Taylor made it 4-1 before the hour. Barlow added his second in the 66th minute, then Farrell turned provider for Taylor’s finish a few minutes later, with Niall Watson’s late reply only trimming the margin. United had more goals in them, but little else; Altrincham were the better side in possession and chance creation from the moment they settled. They go through, and United’s FA Cup run is done.
