Stevenage had the ball and little else to show for it, but they still took the points from Leicester. Wanya Marçal broke through in the 24th minute, finishing after D. Kemp’s pass, and Stevenage carried that 1-0 lead through a first half in which clear chances were scarce. After the break, P. Patterson slipped O. Sanderson in for the second, and Stevenage had a firmer grip before Leicester finally found one back on 69 minutes through E. Riis, off the bench, from Harry Souttar’s assist. Patterson still stood out for Leicester, even in defeat, with the final pass for Sanderson and the Player of the Match nod. Stevenage get the win and 3 points; Leicester leave with nothing from a night they spent chasing.
