Match Report
Sparta Rotterdam had the ball for long stretches, but Fortuna Sittard kept the game tight and took it to penalties. Milan Zonneveld put Sparta ahead in the 15th minute from Isaac Babadi’s pass, and the same pair nearly carried them through before halftime turned to frustration and the chance count stayed thin at both ends. Fortuna answered after the break through Kristoffer Peterson, set up by Siebe Wylin, then Lequincio Zeefuik put them in front five minutes later from Syb Van Ottele’s assist. Zonneveld dragged Sparta level in the 90th minute, with Marvin Young providing the pass, and he still finished as player of the match. After extra time, Fortuna won the shootout 3-2. Sparta are out; Fortuna go through.
