Match Report
Machida Zelvia took the game to Shanghai Shenhua and never really let go of it. They had more of the ball, Shanghai spent long stretches without much to work with, and yet the chances stayed thin at both ends until Ryohei Shirasaki opened the scoring in the 28th minute, with Machida already in command of the tempo. Shanghai never found a clean reply, and I. Drešević stood out in the center of Machida’s control at the back, then was named player of the match. Machida leave Group G top on nine points from three games; Shanghai sit third on four after the same number of matches.
