J. Bond (Houston Dynamo), rated 8.3
Seattle Sounders did most of the running and got nothing for it. They had more of the ball, the cleaner chances, and spent long stretches in Houston’s half, but Lucas Halter’s 26th-minute header from Mateusz Bogusz was the only finish that landed. That was enough for Houston Dynamo, who rarely threatened otherwise and still left with the points. J. Bond was named player of the match for the work behind that result. Seattle kept pushing, but Houston’s box held. No sending-offs, no swing on the bench, just one goal and a lot of Sounders possession with little to show for it. The result leaves Seattle seventh in the Western Conference on 43 points after 32 games, with Houston fourth on 51.
