Match Report
Rio Ave had the ball, the territory, and the clearer chances, and Nacional spent most of the night trying to live off scraps. Njoya put Nacional in front in the 32nd minute after Chico Goncalves picked him out, but Clemmensen levelled before halftime and Rio Ave kept pressing after the break. Bezerra finished one move from Clemmensen in the 57th minute, Njoya answered two minutes later, and then João Tome’s red card in the 54th forced Rio Ave to manage the game a man down without really losing its grip on it. Blesa, named player of the match, converted the penalty in the 71st minute and that settled it. Rio Ave move to 14th on seven points after eight games; Nacional sit 16th on four.
