Match Report
Olympiakos Piraeus took the derby and dragged the title race tighter. Panathinaikos had more of the ball, but Olympiakos carried the sharper threat, and that showed in the 34th minute when Remo Freuler picked out Panagiotis Retsos to put them 1-0 up. Retsos kept his work in both boxes, and that goal was enough to separate the sides before the hour. Then Manolis Saliakas saw red in the 66th minute, and Olympiakos spent the last stretch a man down, protecting what they already had. Retsos was named player of the match for the goal and the defensive work around it, and Olympiakos move to second on 13 points after six games, with Panathinaikos still top on 15.
