E. Riis (Leicester), rated 9.7
Leicester handled this from the start. They had the better of the ball, the clearer chances, and Wigan spent most of the afternoon chasing it back. E. Riis opened it after 17 minutes and never really let Wigan settle, then went again in the 67th after Luke Thomas picked him out to make it 2-0. That was the break in the game; Wigan had little in reply. B. De Cordova-Reid came off the bench and finished it from the spot in stoppage time, adding a third and giving Leicester the margin their control had already earned. Riis was the player of the match for the first-half goal, the second, and the way he kept Wigan pinned back. Leicester get the three points.
