J. Slory (Willem II)
Michel Ludwig (Helmond Sport), rated 9.2
Willem II carried the ball, but Helmond Sport kept making it uncomfortable. Michel Ludwig put Helmond Sport ahead in the 9th minute from Tarik Essakkati’s pass, then Devin Haen leveled it and Eser Gürbüz turned the game inside eight minutes before halftime, finishing Finn Stam’s ball and then setting up Haen for 3–1. Tonny Vilhena made it 4–1 just after the break from Hidde ter Avest’s assist, and Jaden Slory’s red card in the 78th minute left Willem II to manage the last stretch with 10 men. Labinot Bajrami came off the bench to pull one back in the 72nd, then scored again in the 85th to make it tense, with Ludwig still central to Helmond Sport’s best work and named man of the match. Willem II took the cup tie 4-3, but only after Helmond Sport had them hanging on.
