Match Report
Gimnasia L.P. had the game by the scruff of the neck from the start. Ignacio Fernández struck in the 13th minute, and after that Sarmiento Junin spent long stretches chasing the ball and rarely getting near enough to threaten. Gimnasia kept the cleaner chances, kept the territory, and kept the match moving their way until Franco Torres, off the bench, added the second in the 74th minute to settle it. Fernández was named player of the match for the goal and the control he gave Gimnasia in midfield. A straightforward 2-0 win, and three points with it.
