FC Volendam had the ball and Vitesse had the sharper edge, until Luca Blondeau made the half-time break count. M. Kleijn slipped him in for the opener in first-half stoppage time, and Blondeau’s finish put Volendam in front against the run of the sharper chances. After the restart, Vitesse kept asking more questions, but H. Veerman finished off N. Doodeman’s pass in the 77th minute to make it 2-0 and take the game out of reach.
