Match Report
FC Eindhoven took the edge and made it count. FC Volendam had more of the ball, but Eindhoven carried the sharper threat from the start, and Siegert Baartmans opened the scoring from the spot in the 27th minute before Vicente Besuijen, set up by Rayan Buifrahi, made it 2-0 five minutes later. Reuven Niemeijer dragged Volendam back level with goals in the 37th and 40th, only for Buifrahi to restore Eindhoven’s lead before the hour and Baartmans to add a second, this time from Guus Beaumont’s pass. Niemeijer set up Mohammed Belfqih for 4-3, then Jaïr Haakmat, on as a substitute, turned the game the wrong way for his own side with the 78th-minute own goal that settled it. Buifrahi was named player of the match for the influence he had on the result, and Eindhoven’s finishing was the difference in a game Volendam never really controlled despite the extra possession.
