Match Report
Heerenveen had the better of it from the start and never really let Excelsior Maassluis into the game. They had the clearer chances, kept the ball, and waited until the 63rd minute for Dylan Vente to finish Jacob Trenskow’s pass for the opening goal. Trenskow then put his own mark on it in the 75th minute, making it 2-0 and leaving Excelsior Maassluis with little more than long stretches without the ball. Trenskow was the standout, direct in the first goal and on the scoresheet for the second, and Heerenveen leave with a clean cup win in control throughout.
