Match Report

Al-Nahda had the ball, the chances, and very little to show for either. Wesley put Al-Rayyan SC in front after three minutes from Youssef Ayman’s pass, and Youssef Ayman made it 2-0 before the quarter hour when Ibrahim Mohammed Al-Hassan picked him out. Mohammed Al Ghafri pulled one back from the spot in the 59th minute, but Gabriel Pereira restored the two-goal cushion five minutes later from Gregore’s assist, and Ibrahim Mohammed Al-Hassan finished it off late on after Ahmed Alaa Eldin’s pass. Al-Nahda kept controlling the game and still spent most of it chasing. Harib Al Saadi’s sending-off in the 80th minute only left them with more ground to cover, and Al-Rayyan barely had to leave second gear to keep them at arm’s length. Ibrahim Mohammed Al-Hassan was named player of the match, and Al-Rayyan SC leave Group C top on 6 points while Al-Nahda sit fourth on 1 after three games.
